Stephen Blickenstaff
Chessboxing

The basic idea in chessboxing is to combine the no.1 thinking sport and the no.1 fighting sport into a hybrid that demands the most of its competitors - both mentally and physically.

In a chessboxing fight two opponents play alternating rounds of chess and boxing. The contest starts with a round of chess, followed by a boxing round, followed by another round of chess and so on.

conceptual totalitarianism

"most "educated" people cannot tell the difference between a fact and an idea, the most common confusion of symbol and thing. Most believe if they collect enough facts, this will compensate for their inability to grasp the ideas behind those facts. And, because of this "poverty of ideas," most cannot work out the simplest conceptual questions."

"As a result of this educational deficit, our individually inspired sense of well-being, our direct participation in those actions that assure our continued survival, our sense that we must create our own reasons for living, have been replaced by a kind of conceptual totalitarianism, which has as its cornerstone a deliberate blurring of symbol and thing."
A narrative about Edward Bodkin

Ed Bodkin is one of the first cutters (underground surgical practitioners) to be prominently arrested for performing castrations .

Bodkin was already known to readers of Ball Club Quarterly where he sold procedural videos of the castrations he'd done. early videos show primitive techniques, although they did improve over time, and a number of people in the videos claimed that the video was filmed and distributed without their consent.

Edward Bodkin's castration videos are elegant in simplicity, directed to a small, fervent audience's singular interest. There's not much character or plot development. The film consists of a pair of rubber-gloved hands per-forming their task in tight close-up: first cutting the scro-tum along the natural seam in the middle ("Just follow the dotted line," Bodkin explained to prosecutors), sawing through the inner membrane, then tying off the artery in each testicle hanging bloody in the frame, severing the tes-ticle, and suturing up the sac after swabbing out the inside with gauze and paper towels. The wounds are washed with contact-lens solution.

The final shot is two white objects on a green plastic tray, looking like fresh mozzarella balls or large oysters. "That's it. Took us one hour and 50 minutes," comes Bodian's voice on the soundtrack.

when Bodkin was arrested, his videos were seized, along with nine jars of testicles that he'd kept from five earlier clients (who he claims are the extent of his work).

Not long after being arrested Bodkin confessed and pleaded guilty, saying he was doing so to spare his clients (who he maintains were willing and happy ) the embarrassment of a trial that they might be "outed" in.

how can the brain have a record of something that never happened?

"The first reason is that the brain is no video camera - and remembering is not replaying a videotape of the senses. Much to the contrary, in fact: scientists today believe that memory is reconstructed each time it's "called", gathering traces scattered around the brain."

Skin used to transmit key data
Unlocking cars and activating devices securely could soon be a matter of simply touching them, thanks to a communications system that transmits data across the skin.

German company Ident Technology has developed several prototypes of a system that transfers a tiny electric current across the skin. One system is incorporated into a pair of safety goggles and sends a signal to a corresponding electric drill. This means the drill only switches on if the operator is wearing the protective goggles.

"We are using the body as a signal transmitter," says CEO Peter Rosenbeck. "You simply have a transmitter, a person and a receiver."

Microsoft revealed that it holds a patent for using the human body as a data network, for connecting a number of wearable devices. But Rosenbeck believes his company's plans are sufficiently different from Microsoft's to avoid any dispute.

NEW FORESKINS
there are many handcrafted devices available to gradually stretch the skin of the penis shaft to take on the job of the missing foreskin. Motivated circumcised men have invented devices including the CAT II RO, Pul-Man, TLC Tugger, PUD (Penile Uncircumcising Device), Foreballs, Tug Ahoy and many others.

The stretching process takes anywhere from one to three years, or longer for less-diligent restorers. But it's cheap, it requires no incisions and it apparently works.

the Book of skin
Books of skin do, quite literally, exist. William Corder, convicted of the murder of Maria Marten, was hanged, dissected, and then recycled as a book binding for a presentation copy of an account of his crimes. For those with specialist tastes in the bibliodermic, this particular publication is still intact in Bury St Edmunds. The Bristol Records Office contains an account of the trial and execution of a young felon called John Horwood, which was bound in the culprit's skin and neatly embossed with a gallows motif. One owner of a book on the subject of virginity explained in the flyleaf that the volume was "bound in a piece of female skin which I myself tanned with sumac", while a 19th-century Russian poet decided to use the skin from his own amputated leg to bind a collection of sonnets for his mistress.

"Skin"
Writer Shelley Jackson invites participants in a new work entitled "Skin." Each participant must agree to have one word of the story tattooed upon his or her body. The text will be published nowhere else, and the author will not permit it to be summarized, quoted, described, set to music, or adapted for film, theater, television or any other medium. The full text will be known only to participants, who may, but need not choose to establish communication with one another. In the event that insufficiant participants come forward to complete the first and only edition of the story, the incomplete version will be considered definitive. If no participants come forward, this call itself is the work.

Gadgets
In the beginning was the word and the word became another big selling STORYbook....

....and then those wacky americans created their newest tourist attraction.... the new multi-million-dollar Museum of Creation, which will open this spring in Kentucky.

the "museum" aims to promote the view (shared by an alarmingly large percentage of american fuckwits) that man was created in his present shape by God, rather than by a Darwinian process of evolution, as reason insists.

its a multi-million dollar attempt to convince yet more gullible people that the world and its creatures, including dinosaurs, were created by God just 6,000 years ago.

visitors will see a tyrannosaurus rex pursuing Adam and Eve after their fall from grace. "That's the real terror that Adam's sin unleashed," visitors will be warned.

exhibits in the museum will blame homosexuals for Aids. diseases and famine are portrayed not as random disasters, but as the result of mankind's sin.

In a "Bible Authority Room" visitors are warned: "Everyone who rejects his history – including six-day creation and Noah's flood – is `wilfully' ignorant.''

exhibits include images of Adam and Eve, a model of Noah's Ark and a planetarium demonstrating how God made the Earth in six days. a reconstruction of the Grand Canyon, purportedly formed by the swirling waters of the Great Flood – where visitors will "gape" at the bones of dinosaurs that "hint of a terrible catastrophe", according to the museum's publicity.

Mr Ham's Answers in Genesis movement blames the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School in Colorado, in which two teenagers killed 12 classmates and a teacher before killing themselves, on evolutionist teaching, claiming that the perpetrators believed in Darwin's survival of the fittest.(article

This Mobile Will Change Your Life

Subscribers to "This Mobile Will Change Your Life" will receive SMS orders they must carry out immediately.

Orders vary from "kiss the nearest tall stranger" to "Walk into a police station, tell them you’re finally giving yourself up, then remain totally silent" or "It’s 2am: everybody meet in your nearest cemetery dressed as zombies, then march on the town centre".

If subscribers obey the 10 instructions a month, their life is guaranteed to change.

"Most people’s lives are already dominated by their mobile phone. We’re taking this one step further by making them literally slaves to their mobile," said Ben Carey, who, along with Henrik Delehag, imagined the "service".

"Most mobile applications restrict themselves to helping the user in some way. This is the first attempt to explore the darker side of mobile user psychology", explain the authors.

1.. "Dasani"

Coca-Cola's carcinogenic bottled tap water. Coca-Cola recalled half a million bottles and pulled the "Dasani" brand from the UK market on March 19, 2004. Shortly after, plans to introduce the brand on Continental Europe were announced to have been cancelled as well.

2.. janet jackson's apology

The voice from the telescreen paused and added in a different and much graver tone: 'You are warned to stand by for an important announcement at fifteen-thirty. Fifteen-thirty! This is news of the highest importance. Take care not to miss it. Fifteen-thirty!' The tinking music struck up again.

No one who had once fallen into the hands of the Thought Police ever escaped in the end. They were corpses waiting to be sent back to the grave.

He gazed up at the enormous face. Forty years it had taken him to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath the dark moustache. O cruel, needless misunderstanding! O stubborn, self-willed exile from the loving breast! Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother.
